CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | REAL MADRID WINS - SEVILLA FC DRAWS

UEFA Champions League continued tonight with the two "other" remaining Spanish Football Clubs in action. Here are the final results with all the goalscorers.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid defeated 2 - 1 Sporting de Portugal in the very last moment. Heroics from the Spanish defending title holders as they were basically "dead" up to the 89th min. Earlier in the 48th min Sporting player Bruno Cesar put the Portuguese ahead in the 48th min goal that silenced the local crowd.

With Real Madrid looking very average & a defeat a real possibility, Coach Zidane put on Morata, Lucas Vazquez & James Rodriguez to change things & look for at least the equalizer. It seemed to work as all three were very active & in attacking mode.

Cristiano Ronaldo who was without fanfare hit the post mid 80 th min. Then he won himself a free kick which he took himself to score a wonderful goal in the 89th min. It looked as if things would stay this way, when in the 94th min James Rodriguez crossed into the goal square to find the head of Alvaro Morata who got the winner.

Blew the "roof off" the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Close call for Real Madrid but a win after all, be it full of tense emotion. A cliff hanger.

Champions League

Sevilla FC visited Juventus & left with a 0 - 0 draw. Positive result for an away encounter that could have been far worst had Sevilla keeper Rico not been outstanding. His saves allowed his team to scratch a point back home from the Italians.
