Spanish Liga results
Spanish Liga continued today with the remaining five games scheduled of Round 24. Here are all the corresponding final results with all the goalscorers.
Real Sociedad are riding a string of victories which has lifted them up the Liga ladder (now 10th place) . This mid-day they won 3 - 0 Granada in a relatively comfortable match. Goals came in the following order:
- Oyarzabal 20th min, 1 - 0
- Jonathas 44th min, 2 - 0
- Oyarzabal 59th min, 3 - 0
Sevilla FC consolidate their Liga classification position with 5th place after a 2 - 0 victory over Las Palmas. Magnificent goal from Banegas in the 68th min opened the Las Palmas can, while Gameiro & his 74th min goal sealed the three points for Sevilla.
City of Madrid derby between Getafe & Atletico de Madrid with the visitors managing a 0 - 1 victory. Important three points for At. Madrid which holds onto the Liga table 2º place & stays relatively close to leaders FC Barcelona.
The only goal & winner came from Fernando Torres in the 2nd min. From there onwards & until the end, At.Madrid held Getafe at bay.
Eibar won Levante 2 - 0 to keep themselves in the Euro positions (6th position). Goals from Borja in the 38th min & the second from Adrian in the 58th min.
FC Barcelona defeated 6 - 1 Celta de Vigo with the latter playing a very good match. However, after a very even first half, Barça poured on the magic in the 2º half to nail home the victory. Said this, with a 2 - 1 the scoreline Celta missed two clear opportunities to equalize & in doing so were severely later punished.
Spectacular free kick goal from Messi, HAT-TRICK from Luis Suarez, Rakitic in the action & Neymar with a beautifully executed goal. For Celta their only goal came from a penalty in the 40th min when Guidetti converted.
What will be going around the globe is the penalty in the 80th min which Messi took but instead of shooting at goal , placed it forward to allow Luis Suarez to score. Novelty, perhaps, arrogance for some, spectacular & entertaining certainly for the majority... you decide.
