Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano hosted Real Betis & lost 0 - 2. Not an accurate picture of things with Rayo playing well & creating numerous goal occasions but failing to penetrate a solid Betis defence.  Betis on the other-hand took their opportunities with Westermann opening with his goal in the 19th min & Castro sealing things in the 59th min with his goal.

Athletic Club Bilbao defeated visiting Valencia CF 3 - 1. Valencia went into this match on a high after a good week of results but fell again into doubts with a forward line that does not create enough goal opportunities. Although Valencia went ahead first through Parejo in the 19th min, Bilbao turned things completely around starting with the equalizer in the 38th min from Laporte, followed by a second goal from Susaeta in the 59th min & the third from inform forward Aduriz in the 68th min.

Valencia Coach Nuno will be grateful for the Liga week break so things can calm down again back at Valencia were supporters patience is wearing thin.

La Liga 2015

Levante stopped the winning ways of Villarreal after winning their game 1 - 0. Levante was a sticky outfit & made Villarreal fell uncomfortable all match with close marking & good tactical positioning. The winner for Levante came in the 82nd  min through Deyveron.

Atletico de Madrid drew 1 - 1 with Real Madrid in the big City of Madrid derby. Intense encounter as expected with plenty of yellow cards as both teams went all out to win. The first half was for Real Madrid & they opened the scoring in the 9th min through Karim Benzema after a great Carvajal pass. However, Carvajal injured himself later & with a "slower" Arbeloa having to take his place this gave Atletico de Madrid a chance to exploit the right flank. Atletico won themselves a penalty after Ramos fouled Thiago but Griezmann failed after Real Madrid goalie Keylor Navas saved. The Real Madrid goalie would later be vital for his team later.

In the second half Atletico de Madrid took over, & finally Coach Simeone made some changes, including Jackson Martinez for Torres. It was the Colombian who found the pass from team-mate Carrasco (sub) & won with pace Arbeloa & crossed to have Vietto (sub) slam home the equalizer in the the 84th min. The game was end to end & Atletico nearly went ahead but Real goalie Keylor Navas made another great save from a Jackson Martinez shot.

In the end shared points for both teams, with a regular Real Madrid just managing to get through tonight, & thanks to their goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
