UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL RESULTS | TUESDAY GROUP GAMES

UEFA Champions League Group matches tonight with two Spanish Football Clubs in action. Here are the final results along with the goalscorers.

Champions League 2014

Atletico de Madrid travelled to Malmo to play their Group A clash in the local stronghold. The Group is very even & complicated which made it vital for Atletico to get the 3 points. In the end they managed the objective winning 0 - 2

Worked victory with a suffered 1ºst half that saw the first At. Madrid goal arrive when Koke brilliantly put in a JuanFran pass in the 30th min. This gave the Spaniards some calmness & steadied their Football. The Swedes created their chances but the Atletico defence & goalkeeper Moya were solid. The second goal - & sealer - came in the 79th min when Raul Garcia fired home.

Atletico de Madrid will get back home happy after making important progress to secure their presence in the next phase. A presence as yet not guaranteed which will have to keep them still alert.

Champions League 2014

Real Madrid hosted Liverpool FC in their Group B match & secured their presence in the last 16 teams phase after winning 1 - 0. Liverpool rested key men (Sterling, Gerrard for example) perhaps thinking in their upcoming Premier League match with Chelsea FC, while Real Madrid put on their big guns & controlled things throughout.

Although the Real Madrid game was great, the scoreline fell short for what was done. A lot of that had to do with Liverpool FC Goalkeeper Mignolet & defender Toure, who stopped nearly everything.

The best period for Real Madrid was the 1ºst half which included the 27th min Benzema goal from a precision Marcelo pass. Cristian Ronaldo had his chances to break Raul´s all-time Champions League goal tally but failed as he was perhaps overwhelmed a bit by the anxiety of the occasion. Garth Bale have a run after his injury spell & hit the bar.

Names to mention, Raphael Varane who was outstanding, Toni Kroos who was in control, along with Isco & Benzema.  Overall,a good team effort.

Tomorrow more UEFA Champions League action with the turn of FC Barcelona & Athletic Club Bilbao.
