Round 11 got off last night with the Friday game between Cordoba & Deportivo A Coruña which ended with a 0 - 0 final result.
FC Barcelona travelled to Almeria looking to calm the nerves & reverse the criticism. Instead they finished increasing doubts, nerves & accentuating the speculation that Coach Luis Enrique has a "dressing room" issue, especially with Gerard Pique that could rip the team apart if not handled well. Its a test of strength situation that could see "someone" leave the team in the future.
Coach Luis Enrique left out of the starting 11 Luis Suarez, Neymar, Dani Alves & Gerard Pique, the first two had to come on late in the match to save Barça. The first half was the worst 45 minutes of Barcelona all season & Almeria went ahead with the goal of Thievy in the 36th min. In the second half Xavi, Suarez & Neymar came on to turn things around, especially Suarez who played his best moments with Barça setting up Neymar for the 72nd min equalizer & the 81st min winner from Jordi Alba. By the way another match for Barça full of posts for Barça , three.
Meanwhile something that will give debate, Coach Luis Enrique ordered Pique to keep warming up after Xavi was put on. Clear public sign that there is a "power struggle" under way. The upcoming International schedule of games will keep Coach & player from looking at each other for about 10 days, it will cool the atmosphere.
Madrid Club Getafe played out a 0 - 0 draw with Elche. Both in the end were satisfied that they did not lose, the share points deserved.
Local derby with Real Madrid hosting local city Club Rayo Vallecano & winning 5 - 1. Real Madrid left out Isco out initially (came on in 2º half ) for Gareth Bale & the team was more vertical in their approach but as effective as in past matches. Rayo played admirably & with character, although the scoreline was inflated they never gave up & were never intimidated.
Toni Kroos put in an excellent match setting up the first for Bale & later scoring himself. Sergio Ramos got himself a goal , along with Benzema, & yes, Cristiano Ronaldo scored after Rayo goalie Alvarez let slip under his legs the shot. For Rayo their goal came from a shocking James Rodriguez mistake passing back to his goalie Keylor Navas were Bueno exploited the error for his goal.
The goals came in the following order:
- Gareth Bale 9th min, 1 - 0
- Sergio Ramos 40th min, 2 -0
- Bueno 44th min, 2 - 1
- Toni Kroos 55th min, 3 - 1
- Karim Benzema 59th min, 4 - 1
- Cristiano Ronaldo 83rd min, 5 - 1
