EUROPA LEAGUE 1º LEG FINAL RESULTS TONIGHT | SPANISH CLUBS

Europa League 1º leg matches tonight with two Spanish Football Clubs in action with bad results. Below are the final results-scores along with the goalscorers.

EUROPA LEAGUE 2014

Spanish Football Club Valencia CF visited Swiss Club Basilea & lost 3 - 0. The match was played in an empty stadium due to a UEFA sanction & that perhaps added to the "cold" night for Valencia. The Football reason was that Basilea was the far better team & Valencia missed some goal opportunities that they will be cursing themselves flying back home. The goals came in the following order, two from Delgado ( 34th & 38th min ) & the last from Stocker in the 90th min.

The result virtually gives the tie to Basilea which will travel next week to Valencia for the 2º leg match.

EUROPA LEAGUE 2014

Porto hosted Sevilla FC & won 1 - 0. A loss for the Spaniards that still leaves a door open to turn around the tie back in Seville next week. Porto was by far the superior team & Sevilla was lucky to have only got 1 goal scored against them. The Porto goal came in the 31st min through Mangala.

Sevilla improved somewhat for the second half & did all it could to keep at bay the Portuguese. Sevilla even had a golden goal chance that Gameiro could not convert that could have dramatically changed the course of the tie. Overall Sevilla can be thankful for this result.
