The list in itself was transcendent this time around, its the second last list before the World Cup for Brazil, & a clear warning to those left out to smarten up or find themselves with an early summer holiday season. Two names that have caught the attention are Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa & Atletico de Madrid forward David Villa, regular call up players of the Spanish Team that have been left out.

The Arbeloa case has an interpretation. According to local Football observers, Selector Del Bosque was not all impressed by the attitude of Alvaro Arbeloa in the last At.Madrid-Real Madrid match were the physical aspects overtook the main stage. Alvaro Arbeloa was involved in two incidents that have been much talked about & it was not for his Football. The first was a "dirty" elbow to Atletico midfielder Diego Ribas, & the second a "dirtier" behind the back ankle attack on Diego Costa as seen in the above picture. Unnecessary actions & improper of a Football professional were they may have cost Arbeloa his place in the Spanish Football National Team.
It is well known that Selector Del Bosque, ex Real Madrid Champion player & Coach with Ligas, Champions League, Euro Cups & World Cup titles, puts in the up most position the values of respect & fair play for the Sport & for his Footballers. The Spanish Coach did not like at all the "dirty plays" of some players of the semi-final Spanish Cup match with Arbeloa being one of them. The other reason for leaving out Arbeloa is due to purely Football reasons, Arbeloa is no longer the undisputed right back at Real Madrid & his form has dropped.
The absence of Alvaro Arbeloa is clearly a message from Selector Del Bosque that he clean his act, attitude & Football wise if he wishes to participate in the upcoming World Cup with Spain.
The other case that has called the attention is the absence of David Villa. The Atletico de Madrid forward is not having a smooth year marked by injury & lack of goals. Said differently the Atletico de Madrid forward is not at his best playing level & it is hard to justify at this moment a place in the National side. Here too the message from Del Bosque is very clear, lift in form & goals or a place in the Spanish Team for Brazil will be hard to justify.
