SPANISH FOOTBALL - LIGA - ROUND 21 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football continued today with four matches of Round 21 Liga scheduled. Here are all the final results-scores along with all the goalscorers.

SPANISH FOOTBALL LA LIGA 2014

Almeria needed to win & they did so at the expense of Madrid Club Getafe 1 - 0. The loss by Getafe sinks them further down the Liga ladder complicating their season with a 6th straight loss. The visitors may claim they were hard done by with a disallowed goal that was legit. Almeria got their winner in the 48th min from Zongo.

SPANISH FOOTBALL LA LIGA 2014

Osasuna was overrun by Athletic Club Bilbao 1 - 5. The goals came in the following fashion:
  • Susaeta 3rd min, 0 - 1
  • Armenteros 10th min, 1 - 1
  • Aduriz 16th min, 1 - 2
  • Adruz 62nd min , 1 - 3
  • Ibai 84th min, 1 - 4
  • Kike Sola 88th min, 1 - 5
Little to add as the scoreline says its all. Bilbao having a great run in Liga this season.

SPANISH FOOTBALL LA LIGA 2014

Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano hosted city neighbours Atletico de Madrid & lost 2 - 4. The result does not highlight the good game put forward by Rayo Vallecano which could have done more if they were more accurate & if their player Viera did not miss a penalty in the 11th min. Atletico put in a good match themselves but had lapses in concentration which were costly, unusual for them which Atletico fans hope is just a "one off" occurrence.

David Villa opened the scoring to put Atletico ahead in the 8th min. Rayo missed a penalty in the 11th min & then Arda Turan then had a magical period with two goal scored in the 30th & 44 th min. Four minutes before the last Arda goal Viera made up for his penalty miss & scored for Rayo in the 40th min.

The second half was much more worked for both sides with Rayo getting the edge over Atletico. Diego Costa scored in the 74th min But Rayo responded two minutes later with a Larrivey header. From here until the end Rayo had more chances while Atletico defended to halt Rayo & secure the result.

Spanish Football 2014

There was a feeling that FC Barcelona may feel the shock-waves of the mid-week resignation of their ex-President Sandro Rosell. Far from having any effect the mid-week "Institutional Earthquake",  on the field it was business as usual with the team winning comfortably 3 - 0 Malaga FC. The victory puts the Club back into Top place of the Spanish Liga classification table along with Atletico de Madrid which shares points.

Malaga FC could only hold out until the 39th min when Pique knocked in a ball from a corner. The second half was an all Barça dance with goals from Pedro in the 55th min & Alexis in the 60th min. Merit must go out to Malaga FC, especially their goalie Caballero, which lessened the Barça impacts & blows & kept relatively "under control" the scoreline which could have easily been much greater.

Note: Some good news, Affellay got a run again with Barça after a long period of injury, substituting Alexis.

MONDAY NIGHT ROUND 21 MATCH:
