Real Madrid & Atletico de Madrid  play each other in the final of the Spanish Cup on the 17th of May, which under other circumstances for them coincides with Round 36 of Liga. Obviously both cant participate if on Friday they meet which has forced their scheduled games to be put forward for tonight. That is, two Spanish Football matches were played tonight as part of Round 36 of Liga.

Soccer Spain Liga

Celta de Vigo are in real danger of being relegated & need all the points possible in their attempts to stay in Liga. However their 1 - 3 loss to Atletico de Madrid is a serious blow, while Atletico secure their Champions League place for next season.

Intense match that swayed to the visitors when Diego Costa scored for Atletico in the 47th min. Atletico continued on their way with a second when defender Juanfran scored - with deflection - in the 66th min. Celta reacted with a A.Fernandez goal in the 83rd min but Atletico sealed things with a third from Falcao in the 86th min.

Celta are in some "deep shit" currently second last on the Spanish League table.

Soccer Spain Liga

Real Madrid hosted Malaga FC with the possibility FC Barcelona being proclaimed Liga Champion mathematically tonight if Real Madrid lost, that did not happen, as Real Madrid won 6 - 2 Malaga FC. The final result was favoured with two red cards to Malaga which left them down to 9 men; Sergio Sanchez in the 21st min ( last man penalty ) & the other sending off being very harsh indeed on Demechelis in the 72nd min.

Real Madrid started without Casillas & Pepe, which was announced & in the  place of Pepe defender Albiol opened the scoring with a 2nd min header. Malaga reacted well & equalized when Roque Santa Cruz scored in the 15th min, but the game took a turn in the 21st min when Malaga defender Sanchez was sent off with a red card for a penalty on Ronaldo.

The penalty was missed by CR7 but he made up for it with an inside the goal-square free kick goal in the 26th min. The game was wide open with spaces & Real Madrid in a counter-attack went further ahead with an Ozil goal in the 33 rd min. Malaga against the grain scored a second in the 36th min with a "cracker" from Antunes outside the box, but that was their effort for tonight.

From here Real Madrid took over with goals from Benzema - from a Ronaldo pass - in the 45th min, a fabulous goal from Modric in the 63rd min & a precisely executed crack from Di Maria in the 90th min.

Entertaining match overall for the fans.
