FC BARCELONA | 8 CANDIDATES FOR THE DEFENCE

FC Barcelona is look for a Central Defender. This season as in the past, if the squad has a "weak spot" its in the defence & some of the past solutions with signings have not worked out well. Apart from this solid regulars have fallen with injuries or are reaching the twilight of their careers, ej Pujol. 

The technical staff & fans realize this & continue to look for & come up with the right player that can be the long-term guarantee that the side needs for the coming seasons. 

Spanish Sports paper based in Barcelona, "Sport" have published a list of 8 candidates that apparently Barça has on the table to attempt to sign. These are the speculated chosen:

Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Marquinhos (Roma), Iñigo Martínez (Real Sociedad), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), David Luiz (Chelsea), Daniel Agger (Liverpool), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham) & Toby Alderweireld (Ajax).

Lots of defensive talent that the "owning" Clubs will want to keep & brush away the temptations of FC Barcelona. One can look at the shop window but selling & paying for what you see will be another matter. No doubt the upcoming summer months will be busy at "Camp Barça".
