Struggling in the relegation zone, Celta de Vigo hosted FC Barcelona to manage an admirable 2 - 2 draw. Barça went into this game with their heads clearly in next Tuesdays Champions League quarter-final against Paris St Germain, while Celta needed to get points by any means.
Celta got ahead first via Insa in the 38th min but the Barça "machine" got going & Tello equalized in the 43rd min. The match had end to end stuff & Celta had chances until Messi scored in the 73rd min. This goal gave Messi another record as it was his 19th straight game with a goal scored, that is, the Argentine has scored a goal to all the teams in the Spanish Football League.

Another team with their heads in Champions League was Real Madrid which travelled to Real Zaragoza which is also fighting "tooth & nail" to attempt to get out of the relegation zone. This match also ended in a draw with a final 1 - 1 scoreline.
Zaragoza put in an excellent effort "chocking" the Real Madrid midfield & forcing the visitors to play long balls to find space. Zaragoza rattled Real Madrid early & were rewarded with a 6th min goal from Rodri.
From here Real Madrid looked to react, fix things & find the equalizer that finally came when Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 38th min. Real Madrid Coach Mourinho then made a three man change to look for the winner ( Di Maria, Khedira & Ozil ) but was foiled by a solid Zaragoza which had chances to win had it not been for Real Madrid goalie Lopez who put in a good game to save his team.
Levante hosted Sevilla FC & managed a worked 1 - 0 win. Set back to Sevilla which seems to take a step forward then two steps back as they missed occasions & paid for it dearly tonight. Levante scored in the 40th min with a long range "cracker" by Ruben that surprised the Sevilla goalie Beto. From here Levante held out Sevilla which went looking for the equalizer that never came.
