Spanish Football today celebrated five matches of Round 28 of Liga. Here is a brief summary of events, the final scores - results - & all the goalscorers.

Soccer Spain

Malaga FC was still celebrating their Champions League quarter-final berth & was defeated 0 - 2 by RCD Espanyol. The mind wasn't fully tuned as the opposition goals came from lack of concentration & mistakes. The first goal to Espanyol came via a Malaga goalkeeping mistake by Caballero that allowed Colotto to score in the 49th min. In the 66th min Sergio Garcia scored the second & wrapped things up.

Espanyol have managed to turn around a horror season start as they look practically saved from relegation after putting together a string of victories under Coach Aguirre.

Soccer Spain

Sevilla FC ripped apart a decomposed 4 - 0 Real Zaragoza which is in intensive care. The future of Real Zaragoza in the Spanish First Division looks gloomy as their performance is currently unfocused to say the least. Sevilla player Koke got himself two goals - 27th & 52nd min - along with Reyes in the 62nd & Alvaro Negredo in the 67th min.

Soccer Spain

Osasuna received Atletico de Madrid & lost 0 - 2. The man which did the damage with two goals Diego Costa, recently called up for Brazil,  is in a "state of grace". The Atletico player scored first in the 35th min & then followed up in the 48th min with a second. Diego Costa was latter taken off with a strained ankle which will not stop him travelling to Brazil for the upcoming Internationals.

Atletico earned important points in a hostile stadium in their particular tussle for the second place of the Liga table with Real Madrid.

Soccer Spain

FC Barcelona pushed aside Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano 3 - 1. The visitors opted to defend, wait & attempt the counter. This strategy is difficult to implement & risky against Barça which controls the ball more than 65 - 70 % of the time.

The goals for Barça came with a Messi pass to David Villa who riffled in the 25th min. Then Lionel Messi began his particular show with two goals, the first from a Villa pass in the 40th min & his second with a brilliant piece of individual play in the 57th min. Barça could have scored more with Alves hitting the wood-work & some close calls not converted.

Rayo Vallecano got a consolation goal via Tamudo who had just come on in the 70th min.

Soccer Spain

Granada & Levante played out a 1 - 1 draw. The goals came first with a penalty to Granada which Siquiera converted in the 32nd min. Levante reacted & looked for the equalizer that came when Italian Aquafresca scored in the 50th  min. A highly competitive match with 8 yellow cards.
