According to Spanish Sports daily "Sport" based in Barcelona 24 year old Central Defender MATS HUMMELS of BORUSSIA DORTMUND is a top priority for FC BARCELONA to reinforce their defence for next season. Captain Carles Puyol is maturing & is prone to injury & a "back up" is desired.
The only obstacle is his elevated transfer price of 30M€, a stiff figure in these "tough" economic times. The defender was on the Barcelona agenda last summer as the alternative to Thiago Silva which finally landed in Paris St Germain.
