SPANISH FOOTBALL - LEAGUE | ROUND 20 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Round 20 of the SPANISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE - LIGA - continued today with four matches scheduled. Here is a brief summary of the main events, final results & all the goal scorers.

Soccer Spain

OSASUNA managed to get back on track after derailing last week defeating 2 - 1 DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA. Deserved & worked win as Osasuna exploited the defensive deficiencies of Deportivo. KIKE SOLA opened the scoring for Osasuna in the 26th min & NINO got the second in the 60th min. Deportivo managed a consolation goal by CAMUÑAS in the 92nd min.

Soccer Spain

VALLADOLID secured three valuable points as prize for their brave Football playing style. They managed a 2 - 0 victory over REAL ZARAGOZA with goals from JAVI GUERRA in the 12th & OSCAR in the 75th min.

Soccer Spain

ATLETICO DE MADRID shook off sticky LEVANTE in comfortable fashion with a 2 - 0 win that places Atletico just 8 points behind FC Barcelona in second place on the Liga table. Great first half that included a ADRIAN goal in the 32nd min from a fabulous Thiago pass. Atletico continued strong in the second half & KOKE scored the second with a "screamer" in the 60th min.

The only negative note tonight for Atletico was the injury to Falcao with a muscle pull. Tomorrow we will know the extent of the injury.

Soccer Spain

VALENCIA CF was vibed up pre-match for REAL MADRID in the self proclaimed "Spanish Cup 1º leg revenge" & were steam-rolled 0 - 5 by an inspired CRISTIANO RONALDO & Real Madrid team. The damage was all done in the first 45 minutes we deadly counter-attacks that ripped apart the Valencia defence.

HIGUAIN opened in the 8th min. Then it was the CR7 - DI MARIA show with two goals each, CR7in the 36th & 41st min, then the Portuguese gave the pass that allowed DI MARIA to score & give Real Madrid its fifth goal in the 45th min , earlier scoring in the 34th min. As mentioned it was a counter-attacking exhibition from the visitors, rapid, precise & knock-out punching.

Merit to Valencia which managed to halt the onslaught in the second half & kept Real Madrid from scoring more goals that would have been scandalous.

Both teams will meet again in a few days for the return 2º leg Spanish Cup Q/Final tie. Will be interesting to see if Valencia learns tonight's lesson.

Tomorrow more Spanish Football with the last scheduled Round 20 game between Real Betis & Athletic Club Bilbao.
