SPANISH CUP RESULTS | THURSDAY Q / FINAL MATCHES

SPANISH CUP ( Copa de Rey ) return 2º leg matches tonight with the last two games scheduled. Here are the final results & all the goal scorers.

Spanish Cup 2013

ATLETICO DE MADRID had defeated REAL BETIS 0 - 2 away & had a good advantage for the home return leg. That was the case, fairly well controlled & exploiting the away goal advantage that allowed a more concentrated effort of "control" Football.

Atletico got ahead in the 44th min with a goal from DIEGO COSTA. The game maintained itself under the home teams control until a "relaxation" by Atletico allowed JORGE MOLINA to score after Betis was awarded a penalty. Final result 1 - 1 ( 3 - 1 agg to At Madrid ) & will now meet Sevilla FC in the semi-final.

Spanish Cup 2013

FC BARCELONA & MALAGA FC drew 2 - 2 in the first leg,  & the return match promised big things, & it occurred. Fantastic game of Football with end to end stuff & intensity on all lines. It was a Spanish Cup game that will linger tomorrow within the workplace, coffee shops & be part of street talks.

Although Barcelona scored first via PEDRO in the 11 th min Malaga FC had Barça on the ropes up until the 70th min. The home side pushed Barça to the limits which force them to play their best Football or else be eliminated. JOAQUIN drew in the 11 th min & had Barça temporally eliminated from the Spanish Cup.  But Barcelona reacted to get back ahead in the 49th min with a PIQUE goal to later watch how Malaga drew in the 68th min via ROQUE SANTA CRUZ

Great Football up till the moment that INIESTA broke the tie with his magic to pull a rabbit out of the hat with a 75th min goal. This seemed to break the spirits of Malaga which allowed MESSI to seal things in the 80th min from an Alves pass.

Brave & excellent effort from Malaga that should feel proud of their efforts. Final result 2 - 4 ( 6-4 on agg to Barcelona ) . Barça will now meet Real Madrid in the upcoming Spanish Cup semi-final.
