Spanish Football 2012

REAL MADRID continue their city of Madrid Football dominance with a 2 - 0 victory over town rivals ATLETICO DE MADRID. Atletico hasn't won Real Madrid since 1999 & the hopes of breaking this haunting spell fell apart thanks to CRISTIANO RONALDO who was key in the outcome for his team.

The derby was rough stuff as expected & at times very even until CR7 broke the balance of power with a superb direct free kick in the 15th min , after an Arda hand-ball, that set the path. Cristiano continued with his personal "show" that included cross-bar & posts. The second goal for Real came from a Cristiano Ronaldo pass to OZIL who riffled home in the 65th min to shut things up.

Real Madrid will be satisfied as they attempt not to fall behind Barça too much, while Atletico will be very disappointed.
