SPANISH FOOTBALL - LEAGUE | ROUND 7 SUNDAY GAMES RESULT - CLASICO RESULT

SPANISH FOOTBALL action today with Round 7 LIGA matches which included the "Clasico". Below quick summary of the main events of all the matches, along with the final results & the goalscorers.

Spanish Liga 2012
Martins

LEVANTE managed a good win over regional rivals VALENCIA CF with a final 1 - 0 result. The hero for Levante was MARTINS who scored the winner in the 21 st min. Valencia created chances but were cancelled out by a more determined home side.

Valencia are not finding their game of late & they must be worrying as they begin to lose to many points against apparent "lesser" teams.

Spanish Liga 2012
Mallorca - Granada

GRANADA went to MALLORCA & won 1 - 2 to halt the locals good performances at their home stadium. Hard worked & fought out match that saw a red card to each team ( Nsue in the 64th min for Mallorca & Brahimi in the 66th).

The goals came for Granada thanks to EL ARABI in the 65th min & then TORJE in the 76th min. Maloorca got one back in the 86th min via HEMED but it was too late. Said this the game could have been a draw as Mallorca had their chances,  but Granada took the points.

Spanish Football 2012
Aduriz

ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO needed a victory to calm the storm at the Club & they did with a 1 - 0 win over OSASUNA. Great match that saw Osasuna hit the wood-work three times & an excellent Osasuna goalie Andre stopped everything Bilbao shot at him.

However, the goal by Bilbao forward ADURIZ in the 11th min was enough to grab the three points & lift the Club off the bottom part of the ladder. This will give some tranquil days at Bilbao, some calmness that will help relax tensions.

Spanish Liga 2012
Cristiano Ronaldo

The big "Clasico" was another spectacle of high level World Football, perhaps the Best on offer on the planet between the giants FC BARCELONA & REAL MADRID. The final result ended in a 2 - 2 draw that could have gone Barça´s way: Montoya hit the cross-bar in the 88th min & Pedro missed a great chance at the end.

Said this it was also a man to man tussle between the two current Best players in World Football : LIONEL MESSI & CRISTIANO RONALDO. They were the main protagonists tonight & swayed the results of their respective teams single handedly.

CRISTIANO RONALDO put Real Madrid ahead in the 22nd min from a Benzema pass that beat Valdes in the left post. Then CRISTIANO RONALDO equalized in the 65th min from an Ozil pass to keep Madrid alive in the match.

Spanish Liga 2012
Messi

The other main LIONEL MESSI actor did his magic as well with two goals. The first was the equalizer in the 31st min when Real Madrid defenders gave the Argentine too much space. While the second was a perfect free-kick in the 65th min that was unstoppable for Casillas & put Barça ahead at the moment.

In the end shared points with perhaps the closest "Clasico" in recent times. Barça are not as sharp as past seasons but their class keeps them alive, while Real Madrid still look to make a definite jump in level which they did tonight & this will give them confidence for coming matches. The differences between both is closing & tonight it showed.

Spanish Liga 2012
Falcao

Top game between second & third placed teams on the Spanish League classification table. The match ended in an 2 - 1 final result to Atletico de Madrid which joins FC Barcelona to share -  until the next Round - the Top spot of La Liga.

ATLETICO DE MADRID went ahead via FALCAO in the 6th min with a fabulous header, that was later answered with another great header & equalizer for MALAGA by SANTA CRUZ in the 36th min.

The second half was fantastic with Atletico gradually pulling away with more attacking Football that saw the winner in the 90th min when FALCAO scored when he grabbed a loose ball from a Gabi header. That blew the roof off the Atletico Stadium as they - and fans - knew that they were then & there joint Liga leaders. Great start to the season for Atletico!
