SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA ROUND 26 SATURDAY NIGHT GAMES RESULTS

SPANISH FOOTBALL scheduled in 5 games tonight as part of Round 26 of "LA LIGA". Here are brief details of the events, all the final results & the scorers.

SPANISH FOOTBALL
Michu for Rayo Vallecano

Madrid Club RAYO VALLECANO made a spectacular comeback to win 18th placed ( that is relegation zone ) RACING DE SANTANDER 4 - 2. Santander started well & looked on course for a comfortable win when they scored via TORREJON in the 9th min & a second via COLSA in the 27th min. However, Rayo forward MICHU had other ideas as he scored twice, in the 45th min & equalized in the 63rd min for his team.

Racing basically collapsed mentally as Rayo picked up more momentum & were unstoppable. Rayo got ahead via TAMUDO in the 67th min & scored their fourth via PITI in the 72 nd min to overrun Racing & take the three points.

SPANISH FOOTBALL
Getafe - Malaga

Basically same story as the above match as GETAFE were "pushed aside" by MALAGA FC 1 - 3. The victory by Malaga takes them provisionally into 4th place of the Liga ladder, that is, Champions League positions.

DIEGO CASTRO put Getafe ahead in the 42 nd min & their good run ended there. Malaga began to control & equalized in the 57th min via ELISEU followed by goals from TOULALAN in the 81st min & CAZORLA in the 92 nd min.

SPANISH FOOTBALL
Mallorca - Osasuna

Interesting & hard fought out game between REAL MALLORCA & OSASUNA which ended with a 1 - 1 draw result. Osasuna dominated the first half of the match & scored in the 45th min via CEJUDO, but Mallorca "crawled" & "fought" back to regain control & were rewarded for their excellent hard work with the equalizer in the 70th min from NSUE. Shared points.

SPANISH FOOTBALL
Keita scores for Barça

FC BARCELONA overcame adversity to redirect the match & finally win REAL SPORTING DE GIJON 3 - 1 after Barça defender Pique received a direct red card ( last man foul) in the 47th min that left Barcelona with 10 men on the field all the 2º half.

Earlier & during the 1º st half the strategy was clear; Sporting defended & looked for the counter-atacking chance & Barça ( without Messi & Busquets,  & with Alexis on the bench) played touch Football & exercised patience while they waited for their goal opportunity. The goal arrived for Barcelona in the 41st min when INIESTA scored.

The second half complicated itself for Barça, with the Pique red card, & Sporting forward BARRAL ( just on the field ) scored to equalize in the 49 th min to set doubts into the Barça team. From here Barcelona suffered & were lucky not to go down a further goal, but the veterans Iniesta & Xavi managed to get back control & in a brilliant play KEITA scored in the 79th min to bring back the scoreline. This calmed the Barça side & they began securing the match with slower play & more ball control, until XAVI found the opportunity & chipped over the Sporting goalie for the third in the 87th min that was the sealer.

Notes to finish: Iniesta put in a "blinder" of a match & Alexis injured himself again in the "dreaded" upper leg muscle area that has been plaguing him all season.

Salvio for At.Madrid

SEVILLA FC drew 1 - 1 with ATLETICO DE MADRID & rightly so as both teams were owners of a half each. Atletico seems to miss injured midfielder Diego in their build ups & missed tonight suspended (for 1 match) forward Falcao as it showed in their play that was more defensive & with just one forward up front in Adrian. But they were the resources available & Atletico played well the first 45 minutes with a header goal by SALVIO in the 9th min that put them momentarily in the right path.

The second half was more Sevilla FC which dominated most of the half along with its goalie Palop doing some great saves. BABÁ who had just come on for Sevilla equalized in the 53 rd min & Sevilla nearly had the match victory had a goal not been disallowed in the last minutes.
