REAL SOCIEDAD defeated REAL MALLORCA 2 - 0 & have the tie well in hand. A deserved victory with goals from ARANBURU in the 17th min & AGIRRETXE in the 55th min. Not much to add as it was all very clear for the home Club.

FC BARCELONA defeated OSASUNA 4 - 0 in comfortable fashion that could have been more had Barça been more on the mark. This & that Osasuna defended relatively well in order to attempt to stop being totally "over runned" , limit the damage & have a "miracle" chance ( although almost impossible) at their home ground in the 2º leg. The first half was all Barça with two goals from CESC FABREGAS ( 13th & 18th min) with Xavi Hernandez orchestrating the side.
The second half saw Barça lift the foot off the accelerator somewhat & Osasuna looked better & had occasions. But Barça Coach Guardiola put on Lionel Messi , who made a miracle recovery from the flu, & that seemed to lift Barça again. In fact, so much so, that MESSI scored the third & fourth in the 72nd min & the 45th min to practically seal the tie.
Tomorrow Spanish Cup action continues with the last two games scheduled.
