UKRAINE 0 SPAIN 3 | SPAIN GOES INTO THE U - 21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

SPAIN defeated the UKRAINE 0 - 3 in an excellent match to go into the semi final stage of the U - 21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS being held in Denmark. The presence of the SPANISH U-21 FOOTBALL TEAM is not as yet assured for a place in the 2012 London Olympic Games as only the Top 3 of this competition win the ticket. Spain must defeat Belarus in the semi-finales to win a place into the final & in doing so assure a top 3 finishing position for London.

Great first half by Spain with the team really exploiting & getting value from the experience & skills of the Spain FIFA World Champions team members Javi Martinez & JUAN MATA. The latter scored two goals ( 10th min & 72th min penalty) to secure things for the team, while Martinez is a solid rock in midfield alongside Barça player Thiago who pours on the magic. The first half also saw ADRIAN score his third for the Championship in the 27th min.

The second half saw Spain relax a bit & even saw Ukraine win a penalty, but Atletico de Madrid goalkeeper DAVID DE GEA stopped it to keep the Spanish scoresheet clean.
