ATLETICO DE MADRID RECEIVES APOLOGY FROM LAW FIRM OVER ERRONEOUS DEBT NUMBERS

On the 18 of Febuary 2011 Spanish Football Sports Blog ( yours truely ) picked up a news piece spalshed all over the Spanish Sports press & did a post. The article made reference of a report handed in publically by prestigious law firm Cremades & Calvo - Sotelo that claimed that Spanish Football Club ATLETICO DE MADRID had a debt of +700M€. The firm had made the report after an opposition "lobby" called "Asociacion de Humo" had contracted the firm to gain weight in their arguement that the current owners of the Club were leading it to its ruin.

ATLETICO DE MADRID Directives were outraged & threathen to take the law firm in question to the Courts claiming their report was totally false & that their debt was within range of any important big European Football Club, approximately less than 200M€. They stated that their economy was solid & trustworthy.

The very latest is that after "negotiations" out of Court, the Law Firm "Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo" have issued a public statement that their report WAS ERRONEOUS & that the numbers handed in by them were indeed INCORRECT.

With this statement, I obviously must rectify my own post & admit that the numbers were incorrect. Let it state in this public forum.  Tweet
