FC BARCELONA defeated current 2º Division leaders REAL BETIS 5 - 0 in their 1º leg Quarter Final clash. However, don´t let the scoreline fool you, Betis put up an admirable & respectable fight that only saw their efforts got down via the tireness of their efforts & missed goals that they did´nt capitalise on. In fact , Real Betis made Barça suffer like few have at their home ground especially in the first half & right up till the 62nd min when the Barça machine took control from opposition mental lapses & ran riot.

Real Betis missed important chances - thanks to Barça goalie Pinto saves it has to be said - that should have been firmly taken & may have influenced the match to their favour if they had gone in the net. Barça had their chances as well - a Villa post & save by Betis goalie Castro -  but their midfield ( Busquets) & defence were extremely pressured & mistakes occured with Barça including a Betis cross-bar.

However, you cannot give an inch to Barça & must mantain your concentration 100% all the time & MESSI gave the first signs in the 44th min with his opener. Betis tried hard for the equalizer & neraly managed it but their tiredness from running all night opened up spaces & caused mental mistakes that allow MESSI to get his "HAT TRICK" with 62th & 73rd min goals. Then the flood gates opened with a brilliant Iniesta loop pass for KEITA to header his goal in the  75th min & Alves to lay it for PEDRO in the 83rd min.

Tomorrow two more Spanish Cup Q/Finals:
Almeria - Deportivo
Real Madrid - At.Madrid
