SPANISH FOOTBALL | SPANISH LEAGUE - LIGA 2010 -2011 | ROUND 12 | SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Great Saturday night of Spanish Football with three great games as part of Round 12 of the Spanish League - La Liga that brought on a "ton" of goals.

Rossi celebrates the equalizer

While the Spanish League is turning out to be a two horse race between Real Madrid - FC Barcelona, the two nearest contenders, VILLAREAL & VALENCIA CF,  played & finished with a 1 - 1 draw result. ADURIZ put Valencia ahead in the 20th min to see Villareal fight back & put Valencia back into defensive mode. The visitors paid for their conservatism when Villareal equalized via ROSSI in the 73rd min.

Messi got a hat-trick

ALMERIA was sweep off the field with a historic 0 - 8 whipping by FC BARCELONA that included a LIONEL MESSI hat-trick. The collateral damage was the immediate sacking of Almeria Coach Lillo who was left without arguements. FC Barcelona demolished the opposition as they were 0 - 5 at half time & sent a clear message with a "collision" course with Real Madrid with the awaited "Clasico" next Monday.

Allow me to just give you the list of goal scorers : MESSI ( 16th m), INIESTA ( 18th m), ACASIETE (own goal 26th m), PEDRO ( 34th m), MESSI ( 36th m), BOJAN (61st m), MESSI (66th m) & BOJAN (72nd m). Messi brought up his 100th goal with FC Barcelona tonight & will no doubt double this as the years go on.

Bojan scored twice tonight

Barça rested Pique & then took off Iniesta & Xavi at half time thinking in the mid-week Champions League game & next Monday night clash against Real Madrid.

Gonzalo Higuain scores the opener

REAL MADRID seemed to want to answer Barça & CR7 reply Messi. Real Madrid defeated ATHLETIC BILBAO 5 -1 with CRISTIANO RONALDO scoring a hat-trick. Real Madrid goalkeeper IKER CASILLAS needs a mention with three fantastic incredible saves & a grand match by DI MARIA who was outstanding. For the visitors FERNANDO LLORENTE was a problem up front most of the game & even scored their only goal in the 40th min.

CR7 hat-trick tonight

The goals came in this order: HIGUAIN (19th m) RONALDO after a brilliant counter-attack ( 30th m), SERGIO RAMOS from a penalty that surprised Mourinho why he took it ( 57th m), RONALDO from a power range - wobbly free-kick (62th min) & ROANLDO penalty (91st m).

Convincing victory with amazing up front fire power, counter-attack speed & team defeating that will build the atmosphere up the coming week as the "Clasico" gets closer. Cristiano Ronaldo from his end stays current Spanish League leading goal scorer with 14 goals , one ahead of Messi.
